DARC: IARU-Region-1-Notfunkmanager bittet um freie Frequenzen

Der Notfunkmanager der IARU-Region 1, Greg Mossub, G0DUB, bittet die Funkamateure um freie Frequenzen für möglichen Notfunkbetrieb in bzw. mit Japan. 3600 kHz, 7110 kHz, 14300 kHz, 18160 kHz und 21360 kHz sind die QRGs, die in der IARU-Region 3, zu denen auch Japan gehört, möglicherweise benötigt werden. Berichte über Notfunkaktivitäten liegen laut G0DUB derzeit noch nicht vor.
Japan wurde am 11. März gegen 05:46 UTC (14:46 Uhr Ortszeit) von einem schweren Erdbeben getroffen. Das Epizentrum lag 130 Kilometer östlich der Stadt Sendai und ca. 400 km nordöstlich von Tokio auf See. Es erreichte eine Stärke von 8,8 auf der Richterskala. Eine Tsunami-Flutwelle traf auf das japanische Festland und riss Gebäude und Autos mit.

An 8.9 earthquake struck Japan at 2:46 JST (0546 UTC) on Friday, March 11. According to the US Geological Survey (USGS), this is largest earthquake in 140 years to hit the island nation. The earthquake occurred in the western Pacific Ocean, 81 miles east of Sendai, Honshu, Japan. Its epicenter was 232 miles from Tokyo. News reports by the Tokyo Broadcasting System indicate that at least 200 people have died and another 88,000 are missing in six different prefectures.
